Functional Stretch
As we age, muscles and joints begin to weaken and range of motion limitations become increasingly present. This class focuses on stretches and stability exercises that make functional activities easier, including getting on and off the floor, reaching overhead, turning, and picking things up. The goal is to decrease stiffness and leave feeling refreshed and more confident to complete daily activities with less pain and better balance.
Core Strength
Decreases likelihood of low back pain
Stiffness
Combats lack of rotational motion that contributes to stiffness and gait abnormalities
Balance
Improves balance reactions and reduces the risk of falling
Stretching
Reduces stiffness/rigidity and improves gait related mobility issues
Posture
Positions to lengthen neck and spine and improve postural awareness
Community
